Irish football team beats the Armenian with 2:1 score

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 12, ARMENPRESS:

Ireland's national football team has beaten Armenia's at a Euro-2012 qualifier in Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

The Armenian footballers played with dignity till the end of the match. At the 26th minute the Spanish referee who from the beginning showed a biased attitude in favor of Ireland sent off Armenian goalkeeper Roman Berezovski as if for playing with hand. The reality though is quite opposite. The Irish footballer played with hand.

Armenian footballer Sargis Hovsepyan said the leadership of the football team tried to speak with the referee after the game but he rudely closed the door on the people. Hovsepyan and many others believe that everything was decided beforehand: during the previous qualifier the Irish team dropped off because rough mistake of a referee and this time everything was done in their favor.

Nevertheless the Armenian team showed a strong game. Chief coach of the team Vardan Minasyan congratulated the Irish team. In a short press conference Minasyan said "I am proud of my boys. They did a great job at the qualifier".

Giovanni Trapattoni, chief coach of the Irish team, said "Armenia in the first half played very, very, well. The team played well even with ten footballers. This team scores four goals to Slovakia and four to Macedonia.

As to unfairly sending off goalkeeper Roman Berezovski, Trapattoni said it was difficult to see from their place, "it is necessary to watch it again".
