Turkish Education Ministry accused of “giving Ararat to Armenians”

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 5, ARMENPRESS:

The publication of the physical map for the schools in Turkey by the Turkish education ministry where the Mount Ararat is in the territory of Armenia is not the first Armenian-oriented step for which the minister is being criticized. Turkologist Gevorg Petrosyan said speaking to Armenpress that on the initiative of the minister the Turkish government allowed the children of the Armenian citizens study in secondary schools, as well as allowed publication of textbooks in Armenian.

"This step of the Turkish minister is another example of betrayal for the Turkish nationalists, who believe that it is being done to please the Armenians", the Turkologist said.

One of the Turkish NGOs sued the ministry for the publication of the maps.
