Arthur Baghdasaryan: The tendency of increase of the organized crime exists in the whole world including in Armenia

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 4, ARMENPRESS:

Program on increase of efficiency of fighting against crimes was discussed and approved today at the sitting of inter-agency committee today.

Secretary of Armenia's National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan said fighting against organized crime is not only a public priority for Armenia but it is registered in the National Security strategy.

Arthur Baghdasaryan said fighting against crime is Armenia's commitment within the framework of Armenia-EU, Armenia-NATO and Armenia-CSTO cooperation. Our country has assumed to work out national strategy for fighting against organized crime.

Referring to the increase of the activity of organized criminal groups, particularly the one operating in Yerevan, the secretary of the council stressed the efforts of the police directed toward the neutralization of the group. "The tendency of increase of the organized crime exists in the whole world including in Armenia. We must be able to apply right tools for effective fighting", Baghdasaryan said, adding that the adoption of the document is of prior importance and will be followed by necessary legislative changes.
