YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS:

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan will participate today in the opening of "The Education, Science and Economy in Universities: Integration into International Educational Territory" three-day international scientific conference.

120 delegates from Armenia, Poland, Slovakia, Canada, Russia and Kazakhstan participate in it. Governmental press service told Armenpress that the goal of the conference is to consider the issues the sphere faces and to present the possible variants and directions of their solution.

Welcoming the participants of the scientific conference, Tigran Sargsyan noted that the Armenian government sees the future of our country in development of human potential and consolidation of competitive civil society. According to the Prime Minister, during the past 20 years the development of the sphere of education for our country has been among priorities and the goal of the reforms implemented in the sphere is improvement and development of the educational system.

Considering integration into international educational circles through mutual cooperation an important circumstance, the head of the executive body noted that it is necessary for creation and development of a competitive educational system, which will be ale to give high-quality specialists to society in accordance with the economic system. "We must realize that we all are the part of international social-cultural system and the cooperation in the sphere of education is one of the important factors of peaceful and stable development of a democratic state," he said.

Mentioning that the government is responsible for provision of high-quality and available education, Tigran Sargsyan said that at the moment the executive body undertakes all the necessary measures for providing equal opportunities to state and private educational establishments. According to him, development of the educational system must be in the focus of attention of both state governing bodies and civil society.

"We are sure that till 2020 we will manage to create a high-quality and competitive educational system corresponding to all up-to-date requirements. Together with this, we hope to become a worthy partner to the European educational system. I am sure that this conference will enable to consider the issues, requirements and development opportunities of the sphere of education anew," the Prime Minister said.
