Chief of the police: After 20 years of independence the Republic of Armenia has a quite reliable police structure

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS:

After 20 years of independence we may state for sure that the Republic of Armenia has a quite reliable police structure, chief of the police Alik Sargsyan said speaking to Armenpress.

"20 years before and now we have a serious structure, a system implementing serious processes. As compared with previous years the working, assessment styles, methods have changed", Sargsyan said. According to him, now is the process of reforms. He noted that today European, different international organizations value more the protection of human rights, rights of citizens.

"I can say that today they are operating quite attentively. One thing is the police of the soviet years, the other is the police of independent republic. I think today we are bearing a harder burden and responsibility on our shoulders", Sargsyan said.
