Armenian delegation getting prepared for the OSCE PA fall sitting

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS:

The Armenian delegation is getting prepared to the fall sitting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly scheduled for October 5 in Dubrovnik. Head of the Armenian delegation of the OSCE PA Aram Safaryan told Armenpress that by the launch of the fall session the Armenian delegation must enter into a mail contact with the OSCE PA Bureau in Copenhagen after which the main approaches adopted by the Armenian delegation will be presented. "We are yet getting prepared and will make our observations. We still have time", Safaryan noted.

The head of the Armenian delegation also informed that within the framework of the OSCE PA fall sitting October 8 discussions will be organized over the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. "If this discussion is aimed at contributing to the process of settlement of the conflict, it is a welcoming initiative", Safaryan noted.

The discussion was initiated by the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Petros Efthymiou. OSCE Minsk group co-chairs of USA and Russia, head of the OSCE field mission, personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office, heads of Armenian and Azerbaijani delegations will come forth with speeches.

"I am not sure that the discussions that may follow it will have positive impact on the Karabakh conflict settlement if they bring to the new polarization of positions", Safaryan expressed concern, stressing that nevertheless the OSCE PA should be consistent in the NK conflict issue as it has an authoritative representative on behalf of Joao Soares, OSCE PA special representative on the NK conflict issue.
