Artur Badalyan Applies to ECtHR for being tortured in Azerbaijan as Captive

VANADZOR, AUGUST 29, ARMENPRESS: Artur Badalyan, resident of the village of Haghartsin, Tavush Marz, who spent over two years in captivity, applied to the European Court of Human Rights against the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The file was prepared by "Strategic Procedure Centre" NGO in Vanadzor. Edmon Marukyan, president of the NGO, told Armenpress that the file with the documents and evidences attached has already been sent to ECtHR. The file describes in detail the continuous tortures by Azerbaijanis from the date of captivity. Rescuers found May 9, 2009 in "Yali Gomer" field of the village of Movses, Tavush Marz some mushrooms Artur Badalyan had picked in the territory of Armenia, 5-6 far from the Azerbaijani border.
The complainant states that the Azerbaijani authorities, particularly the special service officers and servicemen, tortured him during the 22 months of captivity, showed inhumane attitude, which they alleviated only when finding out that they deal with a civilian, not a servicemen.
