According to the assessment of the European partners a noticeable progress has been registered at the Armenia-EU negotiations over the Association Agreement, Deputy foreign minister of Armenia Karine Ghazinyan stated at the sitting of the inter-ministerial committee coordinating the cooperation of the RA state bodies with the European establishments. The negotiations have launched for already a year. July 15 the 6th plenary sitting took place in Brussels. The plenary sittings are taking place in Yerevan and Brussels.

The deputy minister noted that 18 chapters have been temporarily closed. She said the closing of 18 chapters out of 26 is already a progress.

The agreement intends establishment of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Zone which supposes elimination of restrictions within the framework of Armenia-EU bilateral trade. The negotiations have not kicked off yet.

"The creation of the zone supposes in-depth improvement of Armenia's regulatory class. That is why we have decided to launch the negotiations after implementation of a number of activities. The government of Armenia has already undertaken steps in that direction", Ghazinyan said.
