No Any Azerbaijani War Prisoner in Artsakh Republic

YEREVAN, JULY 19, ARMENPRESS: Azerbaijan's State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons published today a report, according to which there are 4043 missing citizens in Azerbaijan and 1400 Azerbaijanis released from captivity. It is also stated in the report that 13 missing citizens were taken hostage by the Armenian Armed Forces and are kept in "Azerbaijan's occupied territories".

"We returned the last Azerbaijani soldier to them and there is no any prisoner of war in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic," according to Victor Kocharyan, head of the NKR State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons. He added that the Artsakh part has never tried to conceal the existence of hostages.

"In case an Azerbaijani person crossed the border by accident and is taken hostage, we inform the International Committee of the Red Cross Office in Stepanakert, the OSCE, and they visit the hostages and maintain their keeping in touch through letters, as envisaged by the Geneva Convention," he added.
