70-80% of Armenians Insure Their Foreign Trips

YEREVAN, JULY 18, ARMENPRESS:

70-80% of the Armenian citizens leaving for abroad insure their trips, according to Arevshat Meliksetyan, first deputy CEO of "Ingo Armenia" Insurance Company.

He said today at a news conference that all the states of the Schengen Area require compulsory travel insurance. It involves medical expenses, luggage loss, liability. In the first half of 2011 the company accepted 7530 travel insurance. 43 applications on accidents were presented and all of the cases were compensated. Average compensation in the current year made AMD 296 000, maximum compensation – AMD 4 million 750 thousand. Those traveling to European states pay AMD 450 for insurance per day, those traveling to US – AMD 500, to Turkey – AMD 350.
