The trust toward Internet mass media increases

YEREVAN, JULY 12, ARMENPRESS:

Research of Internet mass media was held in Armenia under the auspice of the USA International Development agency. The research was aimed to find out the public opinion and the level of trust toward mass media. The main idea of the analysis was to disclose the development potential and trends of printed and digital press.

A directory list consisting of qualitative and quantitative parts was created for the survey that was held in 1400 households in all the regions of Armenia and included 90 questions, which mainly regarded the traditions existing in the scope of mass media.

"Armenian mass media public opinion research 2011 project" director Manana Aslamazyan who is also the chief of the alternative mass media resources center, said that the survey was mainly designed for the specialists of mass communication.

"It was a sociological observation which we handled through surveys and 8 target groups" said M. Aslamazyan during the press conference and added that the target groups included bloggers, journalists and editors.

According to the executives of the project, recently there has been a certain increase of trust towards digital mass media.

The research was held by the Eurasia Partnership Foundation, Yerevan Press Club, "Internews" organization and the Caucasus Research Resource Center.
