Dilijan prospers as a tourism town

YEREVAN, JULY 8, ARMENPRESS:

Dilijan is prospering as a tourism town: in 2009 and 2010 the flow of tourists to the Armenian resort town has increased, mayor of Dilijan Armen Santrosyan said speaking to reporters today and noting that a continuative increase of the index is being expected this year as well. According to him, Armenians, particularly the residents of the capital as well as some Diaspora Armenians, foreigners prefer to organize their rest in Dilijan.

"I think our town has the most favorable climate condition in Armenia, besides, from the point of view of relief it is not small", he said, noting that currently more than 30 rest houses, people give for rent their mansions. The prices fluctuate from the most available to the most expensive – starting from 3000 AMD till 180 000 AMD per day.

More than 15-17 thousand tourists annually visit Dilijan.
