Vache Gabrielyan Says Armenia’s State Debt Index Not Disputable

YEREVAN, JUNE 30, ARMENPRESS: Armenia's state debt index is manageable and not disputable, RA Finance Minister Vache Gabrielyan said today at a briefing, held after the Government's session in the province of Vayots Dzor.

The foreign debt sustainability analysis, which has been carried out since 2010, proves this. "Our debt makes 44-45% of the GDP index. From this position, the number is not fearful and is manageable. A number of international rating private agencies share this opinion. Besides, the law on debt clearly defines the frontier of 50 and 60 %. We have no such issue, and we can even increase the debt within this framework without seriously thinking of sustainability," the minister said.

He added that Armenia has a debt, which is sizeable for the country, which should be managed more efficiently, "however in terms of sustainability, it is not disputable".
