Garnik Isagulyan: Each meeting of presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan to be of consulting nature without participation of the NKR

YEREVAN, JUNE 30, ARMENPRESS:

As far as Nagorno Karabakh Republic is not participating in the negotiations each meeting between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan will be of consulting nature, representative of the President of Armenia at the National Assembly Garnik Isagulyan said at a news conference today, adding that the meetings of the presidents will be of full negotiating nature only in case the NKR becomes full member of negotiations. "In any case Armenia stays by the NKR but it cannot act instead of it", Isagulyan said.

He said at the Kazan meeting the President of Armenia was staying firm and clearly pointed out that Armenia will never agree to unilateral concession. "Today it is impossible to go to unilateral concessions as in case of any concession Azerbaijan toughens its position and continues its military rhetoric", Isagulyan noted, stressing that first the status of NK must be decided at talks, only after it it is possible to talk about other issues.

In his opinion in the coming to years the developments over the NK conflict will become more passive connected with pre-electoral process in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, the USA and France.
