MP says Kazan meeting neither breakthrough, not failure

YEREVAN, JUNE 27, ARMENPRESS:

There are no legal nor political grounds for the conduction of early elections in Armenia, member of the Republican Party of Armenia Rafik Petrosyan said at a news conference today adding that it is not necessary to continue the tension between the ANC and authorities.

Representative of the Armenian National Congress Gurgen Yeghiazaryan said for confronting the foreign challenges Armenia must solve its inner issues.

Referring to the Kazan meeting of the presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan, Petrosyan noted that it was not a breakthrough but it was neither a failure. According to him, this time after the meeting the Azerbaijanis displayed a small restriction agreed with the statement of the three presidents.

Yeghiazaryan noted that the Kazan meeting did not have a noticeable result: the issue was temporarily postponed and it is necessary to wait for new developments.
