Drug addiction is becoming younger in Armenia

YEREVAN, JUNE 24, ARMENPRESS:

Head of the Armenian office of the Complex Management of Borders in the South Caucasus Grigor Malentsyan said a drug addict must not be punished but must be taken care of, pass treatment.

"Everyone understands that there is no society in the world deprived of drugs. In that case it is necessary to display a complex approach to help the drug addict go out of the situation. Only treatment is not enough, serious psychological work is necessary here", he said, highlighting the role of the society.

"The drug using person is sick, he/she needs help", Malentsyan said.

He informed that the drug addiction is becoming younger. If previously the official information did not contain materials about teenagers, today it exists. The main drug addicts are of 30-35 years old.
