YEREVAN, JUNE 22, ARMENPRESS:
The possibility of progress in the process of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations is not agreed with the inner political processes in the two countries, chief editor of the Istanbul "Jamanak" newspaper Ara Gochounyan said speaking to Armenpress, referring to the opinion that progress will be registered in the process after the parliamentary elections in Turkey.
"The impact of possible improvement of the Armenian-Turkish relations in the international and regional levels is big and it may be reflected particularly on the balances of the forces. In this respect the two countries take into consideration the responsibilities having toward the international partners. The regulation of relations is of minimal dependence from the inner political processes", the chief editor said.
Ara Gochunyan said in near future he does not expect any changes in the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two states, saying it is a "long-lasting process".
"A time may come when the parties will start building their relations in completely new conditions. Nothing can be excluded. But fitting the settlement of relations in timeframes is difficult. I am not pessimistic in this issue but it is difficult to speak about concrete results and prospects today", he said.
