Public lacks awareness about pension’s reforms

YEREVAN, JUNE 20, ARMENPRESS:

The public lacks awareness about the reforms in the pension's sphere. It may be proved by the research conducted in the republic by "AM Partners Consulting Company". The studies were made in 992 rural and urban areas among people of 16 and above.

Head of the consulting company's program Vardan Aghbalyan said the research gives answer to such core issues as what the level of awareness of the public and its attitude is toward the pensions reform, the concerns.

The polls showed that only 46% is aware of the pensions system. Aghbalyan said when the issue was concretized only 27% of them knew that the operating system is distributing. Only 0.9% new the right amount of social payments made by employers and employees.

The studies showed that only 36% of inquired knew about the reforms implemented in the pensions' system. In spite of it, though, the 40% has heard about the assembling pensions system.

"It is difficult to find 100 people in the republic who fully know the whole process of reforms", Aghbalyan said.

Overall, 16% said they are for the reforms in the sphere, 15% said they are against and 60% did not know.
