Maxime Verner, 21, student of an Armenian descent, forwarded his candidacy for the 2012 French presidential elections. Armenpress reports citing the "Nouvelle D'Armenie" periodical that Maxime Verner's father is a taxi driver and his mother, Florence Krekdjian, is Armenian by origin.
Verner's pre-election project is published in a book, called "Youth of all ages meet us! 89 proposals for 2012". One of the 89 proposals refers to the free-of-charge provision of the driving license.
As to the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, Verner said he appreciates the Turkish intellectuals' stance, according to which it is necessary to continue the process of establishing friendly relations between Armenia and Turkey.
Maxime Verner wants to become the French youth's representative, aiming to present the youth's voice. Verner's candidacy provoked a great sensation in France.
