Davit Shahnazaryan says NK conflict settlement important regarding global security

The Deauville statement of the Presidents of the United States, Russia and France is a result of unprecedented global cooperation between Russia and West. They both see the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh issue in one way, representative of the Armenian National Congress Davit Shahnazaryan said at a news conference today, adding that he does not remember such an extended cooperation among the Minsk group co-chairing countries over the Arab issue, Israeli-Palestinian issue and Karabakh conflict settlement. "Such close cooperation between the co-chairing countries has never been registered in the history of the NK conflict settlement", Shahnazaryan pointed out. According to him, the Deauville statement essentially differs from the past two statements as with it they clearly stated that the time has come to agree over the basic principles of the conflict.

Shahnazaryan also did not exclude that if not in Kazan but at the next meeting the works on the "big treaty" of the Karabakh conflict settlement will start.

"The Nagorno Karabakh conflict is not only the security issue of our region but the global security issue that is why the co-chairs started extended activities", he noted.
