Hayk Demoyan: No document about 100-year time of international recognition of genocides

YEREVAN, MAY 30, ARMENPRESS:

There is no document about 100-year time of international recognition of genocides, there is no international law, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan, who is also secretary of the commission set up to coordinate events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, told the reporters after first sitting of the commission, referring to the statement of the Turkish side that after 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide the international recognition of the Meds Yeghern will be legally excluded.

"It is just a topic of talks, propaganda", Demoyan said, noting that for many Tsitsernakaberd, the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute are perceived as a mourning place. "Just the opposite, we deal with life. As much as we deal with history as much we love life. Tsitsernakaberd memorial is not a mourning place, it is a memorial of life. That is why we must note the 2015 not as the border line of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide but the beginning. Nothing ends with 2015, just the opposite many things will begin", Demoyan pointed out.
