MP: Azerbaijan ignores Minsk Group co-chairing countries

YEREVAN, MAY 27, ARMENPRESS:

"Azerbaijan shrugged off and ignored the call of the Minsk Group to agree over the last variant of the Madrid principles", Eduard Sharmazanov, spokesman for the Republican party said today, commenting on the response of the Azerbaijani foreign ministry in connection with the Deauville statement of the Minsk group co-chairing countries, urging the conflicting parties to end the work on the principles of the Karabakh settlement in June.

Eduard Sharmazanov also pointed out that for already a year Armenia has given a clear response to the proposals of the co-chairs while Azerbaijan is trying to evade bringing the negotiations to a deadlock.

The parliamentarian mentioned that with this step Azerbaijan is trying to hamper the meeting scheduled in Kazan.
