YEREVAN, MAY 17, ARMENPRESS:
The level of the anti-aircraft defense systems of the Republics of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh is high and they are ready to fulfill their missions at any moment to defend the air security of the two Armenian states, according to Colonel Haykaz Gevorgyan, head of chair of the anti-aircraft security faculty of the RA Defense Ministry's Armenak Khamperyants Military Aviation Institute.
He said at a news conference today that since 1999 the RA anti-aircraft defense forces have been partaking in the joint drills of the CIS states. In 2005 with those drills they received the highest marks by fulfilling their missions with the "T-300" high technology system.
According to Artsrun Hovhannisyan, military expert, the military readiness level of the Armenian anti-aircraft systems and forces is high. "During the Karabakh war we did not have corresponding specialists, high-level anti-aircraft equipments, as Azerbaijan. Despite this, we achieved success in this field by making the opponent suffer losses and destroying a large number of military equipments. This was an excellent result in the history of armed forces," the military expert said.
According to Haykaz Gevorgyan, the RA Defense Ministry's Armenak Khamperyants Military Aviation Institute has prepared three generations of RA Armed Forces specialists. "I assure that we have excellent professionals, the number of which will increase," Haykaz Gevorgyan said.
