Azerbaijan – winner of “Eurovision 2011”

YEREVAN, MAY 16, ARMENPRESS:

The winner of the "Eurovision 2011" international song contest became Azerbaijan with the "Running Scared" sing performed by Eldar Qasimov and Nigar Jamal. The song gathered 221 points. The highest 12 points Azerbaijan received from Russia, Turkey and Malta. Ukraine, Greece, Croatia, San Marino, Romania and Moldova gave 10 points to Azerbaijan.

The second came Italy with 189 points. It participated in the contest for the first time after long pause. Sweden came the third with 185 points, followed by Ukraine with 159. The top five is being closed by Denmark with 134 points.

Russian Alexei Vorobyev with "Get You" song took the 16th place getting 77 points. The French representative which was predicted to be the winner took the 15th place with 82 points. Armenia gave the highest points 12 to Ukraine, 10 to Georgia, 8 to Russia.

The "Eurovision 2012" will be conducted in Azerbaijan.
