Artak Shaboyan Says with New Opportunities SCPEC RA to React to Existing Issues More Quickly

YEREVAN, MAY 10, ARMENPRESS:

The State Commission for Protection of Economic Competitiveness (SCPEC RA) achieved new oversight opportunities with some legislative amendments on competitiveness.

Artak Shaboyan, chairman of the committee, said today at the first session of the SCPEC RA public council that the amendments intend stricter punishments. He noted that during the NA discussions essential amendments, especially connected with the abuse of authority and anti-competitiveness agreements, were made. He says new tools, which strengthen the basis of evidences, have been invested with the legislative amendments.

According to Artak Shaboyan, the preventive functions have been increased as well. He says with the new opportunities the commission will be able to react to the issues, existing in the sphere, more quickly.
