YEREVAN, MAY 3, ARMENPRESS:

After the coming parliamentary elections the current authorities – the coalition as well as the Armenian National Congress will enter the parliament, political analyst Armen Aghayan said at a news conference today. According to him, the rating of the current parliamentary opposition – the Heritage and ARF – has gone down and their opportunity to enter the parliament is less.

"The recent actions of Raffi Hovhannissyan were directed toward increase of their rating. Coalition, irrespective whether it will come forth with a joint list or not will get more than 50% and the ANC will get the majority of the votes of the opposition leaving behind other oppositional forces" Aghayan said.

According to the expert, there is no additional information about the dialogue between the authorities and opposition, besides the one that the both parties are implementing steps beneficial for each other.

Aghayan said that the leader of the Armenian National Congress Levon Ter-Petrosyan has personal interests in today's political field. "The latter does not seek to seize the power if he had such goal he would not have left the other oppositional forces – "Heritage", Zhirayr Sefilyan and others. His goal is to get out of the political process with dignity, clean the 1996 biography, the expert said.
