Number of marriages increase in Kapan

KAPAN, APRIL 11, ARMENPRESS: In the first quarter of the running year 118 babies were born in the Kapan region and 119 people died. Milena Veziryan, head of the territorial department of civil acts registration, told Armenpress that in the same period 53 marriages, 13 cases of divorces were registered in the territory.

As compared with the same span of the past year the number of marriages increased with 10, the number of divorces with 5 and the number of deaths with 2. The number of births decreased with 6.

According to the department, parents in Kapan name their children mostly Monika and Alex which are foreign names. Armenian names are also being registered in case parents name their children after granparents.
