13-Billion-AMD Income in Tourism Sphere of Gegharkunik Marz

GAVAR, APRIL 4, ARMENPRESS: The 2010 tourism volume has been assessed at the Gegharkunik provincial agency of the RA National Statistical Service.

Hakob Badalyan, head of the agency, told Armenpress that this year the province’s income in the tourism sphere made 12 billion 552 million AMD against 10 billion 880 million 880 thousand AMD of 2009.

In 2010, over 20 000 tourists visited Sevan Lake for a holiday. Hakob Badalyan says tourists show great interest in the historical-cultural monuments of the province. Nonetheless, tourism is active in the province only in summer.
