Support to the Unemployed of Syunik

KAPAN, APRIL 4, ARMENPRESS: The works of establishment of Employers’ Councils for supporting the local unemployed are in progress at the Syunik Regional Employment Centers.

Ruben Poghosyan, director of the provincial employment center of Kapan, told Armenpress that the councils will support the implementation of employment programs, will promote the provision of jobs for the unemployed. Practical works, excursions to industrial centers will be organized for those, who have some profession, but lack for practice. An opportunity of strengthening the unemployed-employer ties will be created as well. The small and middle-sized enterprises of the province, as well as representatives of large mining companies will be involved in the councils.

The creation of employment clubs in Meghri and Sisian Regional Employment Centers is aimed at supporting the unemployed of Syunik. Employers and job seekers will have direct meetings in the clubs and will discuss issues on vacancies and the employers’ demands. The employment clubs have been established within the framework the USAID “Armenia Pension and Labor Market Reforms” program.
