Recitation Competition in Ijevan on 50th Anniversary of “Peace Corps”

YEREVAN, MARCH 15, ARMENPRESS: A competition of recitation in English was held today in Ijevan on the 50th anniversary of the US “Peace Corps”. The event was held upon the initiative of “Peace Corps” volunteers, who live in various communities of the province of Tavush.

Over 60 schoolchildren from the city of Ijevan and the communities of Aygehovit, Azatamut, Vazashen and Khashtarak recited creations by William Shakespeare, Robert Frost, Emily Dickenson, Robert Burns and other writers. In parallel with the competition, the “Peace Corps” volunteers and their Armenian colleagues marked the organization’s 50th anniversary.
