YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 9, ARMENPRESS: Thirty new working places will be created by the opening of Sevan ropeway (1130 m), situated at the foot of Mashtots Mountain in Tsovagyugh community, Sevan region, Ghegharkunik province.
The ropeway will also contribute to development of winter tourism and mountain-skiing sport, author of the initiative of the ropeway, Director of “Aghatamar” CJSC Luiza Shahbazyan told Armenpress, adding that the ropeway will officially work from February 15. “We have invited all the tourist groups, persons interested in mountain-skiing sport, ambassadors ad representatives of the Armenian Economy Ministry, who will have an opportunity to climb the top of the mountain, and admire Lake Sevan, as well as enjoy the evening within jazz and pop music,” Luiza Shahbazyan said.
Special discounts will work for the lovers of the mountain-skiing sport. “Taking into consideration the climate conditions, we have chosen the territory not far from Aghtamar peninsula, where there is snow till June-July. It is a fine opportunity for the lovers of the mountain skiing sport,” Luiza Shahbazyan said, simultaneously pointing out that there will be 3 roads of mountain-skiing sport – for novice, amateur and professional mountain-skiers.
The project involves “Akhatmar” restaurant, hotel and mountain-skiing complex, as well as an ice church, restaurant, center for entertainment, and in summer there will be fine conditions for having a rest on the shore. “We do our best to make Sevan attractive for tourists all year round. We have worked out a strategic plan for 10 years, according to which we will realize all our goals and projects,” she noted.
