“Light to the Eyes of Armenians” program in 5 Armenian provinces

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 3, ARMENPRESS: In the running year the Armenian Ophthalmologic Clinic will pay visit to 5 Armenian provinces within the framework of the program of “Light to the Eyes of Armenians”.
Public Relations and Educational Manager of the Armenian Ophthalmologic Clinic Minas Hambardzumyan told Armenpress that the movable ophthalmology hospital will travel in Armenian provinces providing high-quality services to the population.
Armenian ophthalmology program has been working in Armenia from 2003. About 257 people have been examined on the whole, and over 12 thousand beneficiary patients have undergone surgery or received a laser treatment. Thirty-four thousand 258 eye-glasses have been provided in case of necessity.
Armenian Ophthalmology Program also continues the program of “Eye Examination and Treatment of Retinopathy of Prematurity” in Yerevan. It has launched in summer 2010. On the decree of the Armenian Healthcare Ministry, eye examination is made in all departments of reanimation of infants and intensive therapy.
The program on distant medicine coordinated by the Armenian Ophthalmologic Clinic is going on. Thanks to this initiative Armenian and American specialists are in constant contact and consult over all cases of prematurity retinopathy in Armenia.
