Unemployment rate in Syunik decreases

KAPAN, JANUARY 25, ARMENPRESS: The unemployment rate in Syunik in 2010 made 10,1% which exceeds the average republican rate with 3,2%. Director of Kapan provincial employment center Ruben Poghosyan told Armenpress that as of January 1 2011 7221 citizens have been looking for job in the province. 5317 of them have status of unemployed of which 808 get allowance. During one year 750 people found jobs. As compared with the 2009 the number of unemployed reduced by 1318.

During the year the center implemented a number of programs for the unemployed. About 917 job seekers participated in the “Public work for payment” program.
