YEREVAN, JANUARY 8, ARMENPRESS: Jermuk has seen in this New Year with splendor and luster. Assistant to Jermuk Mayor Arpine Avetisyan told Armenpress that festive events have been conducted in Jermuk schools, kindergartens, cultural centers and resting houses. “There were also theatrical performances with participation of Santa Claus and Snow Maiden,” Mrs. Avetisyan said, adding that the only “shortcoming” of this year was the delay of the snow.

Jermuk also grandiosely celebrated the Christmas. A Christmas liturgy was chanted in the newly built Church of Saint Gayane, in which a great number of Jermuk people participated. To remind, by Jermuk Development Program a golf field is intended to design, as well as a separate chess center, a winter town, a new airport, a ropeway, which will turn Jermuk into a tourism center corresponding to international standards, and festive events will be organized not only on New Year’s days and Christmas, but whole year round as well.
