GAVAR, DECEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS: Nver Poghosyan, governor of the province of Gegharkunik, Gurgen Martirosyan, mayor of Gavar, Bishop Marcos Hovhannisyan, leader of the Gegharkunik Diocese, a number of workers of public educational and cultural establishments and citizens put today wreaths on the memorial stone, dedicated to the victims of the earthquake of December 7, 1988.
In the church, the attendees prayed and put out candles in memory of the victims of the devastating earthquake. Bishop Marcos Hovhannisyan addressed to the faithful and said that the wound of the Armenian nation has not been healed yet. He added that the commemoration of the victims and prayers for the repose of their souls are the best way to relieve the pain.
