2349 monuments registered in Shirak province

GYUMRI, NOVEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS: Two thousand 349 monuments are currently registered in Shirak. According to the state list of immovable historical and cultural monuments of Shirak province, the 1022 of them are in Gyumri. That list has been confirmed by the Armenian government in 2004 September 14.

Head of the province Service of Preservation of Historical-Cultural Reserve-Museums and Historical Environment Avetik Melik-Sargsyan told Armenpress that over 28 new monuments have been found in the previous years in the communities of the province by the service. Avetik Melik-Sargsyan said that the newly-placed and found monuments, too, must be involved in the state list of historical and cultural fixed monuments.

“State cadastre registration ofimmovable monuments of communities and of lands of historical-cultural significance, border specification works and state registration of right to property must be also implemented ,” he added.
