Program on restoration of drinking and irrigation water pipelines in northern regions of Armenia in the final round

GYUMRI, NOVEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS: Program on restoration of drinking and irrigation water pipelines in northern regions of Armenia is underway in three provinces of Armenia. It is being implemented by the investments of the “Armenian Caritas” organization, German “Renowabis” and “Caritas Italy”. The program includes 11 villages of Shirak province, one village of Lori and one of Gegharkunik. The 46 000 euros out of the provided 60 000 have been directed to Shirak province.

The program launched early this year and is already in the final round. Responsible of the program Samvel Gevorgyan told Armenpress that the main issue of the program is the restoration of water pipelines. “The goal of the program is to improve the economic, sanitary-hygienic and social conditions of residents of target communities, developing the capacities of communities in management of water resources,” Mr Gevorgyan said.

Community task groups have been set up for the implementation of the program.
