YEREVAN, OCTOBER 13, ARMENPRESS: A tree planting has been implemented today in “Varpetats District” of Spitak town of Lori province within the program of “Clean Homeland” with participation of Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. The prime minister, welcoming the participants of tree planting, noted that quite consistent work is being carried out, and corresponding events are being implemented for spreading the ideology of “clean homeland” in all the provinces of the republic.

“I want to express gratitude to the young people of “Miasin” movement, who are consistent and take control over implementation of “Clean Homeland” program confirmed by the Armenian government,” the prime minister said, adding that the goal of the program is to keep the homeland clean. Tigran Sargsyan said that there are still tasks to fulfill in that direction. Steps must be undertaken to change people’s way of thinking.

“Spreading this action in all the provinces, we want to draw the public attention to the issue. If each person plants one or two trees, something will be changed in him/her and he/ she will assess the value of the nature in a new way. I think that consistency is of great importance in that issue,” Tigran Sargsyan said.

The prime minister noted that suchlike actions will still be continued, and added that it will be purposeful that all the governors take the program under their personal control and implement it in provinces on their own.

“We must consistently supervise that the program is completely implemented. Schools, educational establishments must be involved in implementation of the program, in order pupils and students actively participate in the events.

Lori Governor Aram Kocharyan noted that an action is being implemented in “Varpetats District” of Spitak town, which has a goal to make it more beautiful and convenient.

“I think that people will live here with pleasure, as all the possible measures have been taken to make the district more prosperous. It is welcoming that a great number of people participate in tree planting, including the residents of other settlements of the province. It proves that each of us takes care of nature,” Mr. Kocharyan said.

Two hundred twenty houses have been constructed in “Varpetats District”, the part of the beneficiaries of which has already received their apartments by a lottery.

Members of the government, representatives of “Miasin” youth movement, NGOs were present at the tree palnting.
