Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation Signed between Cities of Sevan and Brodnitsa

YEREVAN, AUGUST 26, ARMENPRESS: A memorandum of friendship and cooperation was signed today in Sevan, province of Gegharkunik, between the cities of Sevan, Armenia and Brodnitsa, Poland. The memorandum was signed between Mayor of Sevan Gevorg Malkhasyan and Zislava Marcinyak, head of information and advertisement agency of Municipality of Brodnitsa.

The delegation was comprised of Maria Radka, head of culture and tourism department of Municipality of Brodnitsa, Marian Pomo, director of Brodnitsa’s National Park, and Henrikh Zdunowsky, director of water-piping and municipal utilities company.

The text of the memorandum was published by Mayor of Sevan Gevorg Malkhasyan. According to the text, the two sides will cooperate in the spheres of education, culture and nature protection.

Zislava Marcinyak mentioned that Brodnitsa has agreements of cooperation with cities of Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Switzerland and Ukraine. He added that Sevan is the sixth twin city of Brodnitsa.

Governor of Gegharkunik Nver Poghosyan was present at the signing ceremony. He said he welcomes the signing of such a memorandum and mentioned that the day will become historical for the people of Sevan, as friendship is being established between two cities. He added that such friendship has already been established between Sevan and Grenoble, France.

Mayor Gevorg Malkhasyan presented a tapestry of the Armenian State Emblem to the Municipality of Brodnitsa. On behalf of the mayor of Brodnitsa Zislava Marcinyak presented a sword, produced 1939 in Poland, on which it is inscribed as following: ‘God, Dignity, Homeland: From Municipality of Brodnitsa with Deepest Respect’.

The head of the Polish delegation handed to Governor of Gegharkunik Nver Poghosyan a special medal, which is produced in Brodnitsa and symbolizes the city. He expressed hope that all the points of the memorandum will be implemented. He said he hopes the further deeds and the program of mutual cooperation will be made clear during the mutual visits and contacts.
