Some departments of Gyumri higher educational establishments can be closed because of the absence of students

GYUMRI, AUGUST 26, ARMENPRESS: Some departments of Gyumri higher educational establishments can be closed because of the absence of students. This year Gyumri’s M. Nalbandyan State Pedagogical Institute and some departments of the Gyumri branch of the Yerevan State Architectural University face the issue.

Responsible Secretary of the Receiving Commission of the pedagogical institute Arthur Khachatryan told Armenpress that there are also vacant places in the institute. Vacant places have been registered both in the system of state order and paid one.

There are many vacant places in the Gyumri branch of the Yerevan State Architectural University as well, where 145 vacant places have been registered for 235 plan places.

The image is quite different in the Gyumri branch of the Yerevan State Economic University; a contest has been registered here because of the large number of applicants, and instead of 82 plan places at first 56 additional, and then other 21 places were provided on the assignment of the Armenian Education and Science Ministry, as a result of which all the applicants who applied to the establishment by first bid, or overcame the passing thresholds, are considered to be students of the higher educational establishment.
