Cultural Day of Ulyanovsk province in Shirak

GYUMRI, AUGUST 21, ARMENPRESS: A Cultural Day of Ulyanovsk province was conducted August 20 in Shirak province. Before presenting the Russian culture to the Armenian spectator, the Russian delegation participated in the opening of “Hill of Honor” memorial complex – symbol of the Armenian-Russian friendship. The idea of founding this memorial complex developed last year during the visit of the delegation of Ulyanovsk province to Gyumri.

Director of the Folk Culture Center of Ulyanovsk Yelena Safronova told Armenpress that though the visit is the first for many people, but they have already managed to love Armenia. “It is honor for us to participate in the opening of “Hill of Honor”, which once again testifies about the Russian-Armenian friendship. We have a lot of common,” Y. Safronova noted.

In Gyumri Dramatic Theater after V. Achemyan Ulyanovsk Governor Sergey Morozov handed certificates and medals to the participants of the development of “Hill of Honor” program. The events wrapped up in the evening in Vardanants Square of Gyumri with a joint concert of local and Ulyanovsk cultural groups.
