Edik Barseghyan appointed governor of the Armenian province of Ararat

YEREVAN, JULY 15, ARMENPRESS: With the decision of the Armenian government Edik Barseghyan has been appointed governor of the Armenian province of Ararat. Former governor Vardges Hovakimyan submitted resignation application.

At today’s session of the government Tigran Sargsyan congratulated Edik Barseghyan on the appointment wishing fruitful work.

Speaking to reporters Edik Barseghyan said that he will undertake all the necessary steps for the solution of the issues of the province. “It is early for me to speak about the issues of the province. In the near future I am planning to tour in all the communities and get acquainted with the issues on my own,” Barseghyan said.

Before the appointment, Edik Barseghyan was the deputy emergency situations minister. He has also presented application for becoming member of the Armenian Republican Party.
