Construction works of new medical center kicks off in Gyumri

GYUMRI, JULY 2, ARMENPRESS: Construction works of a new medical center have kicked off in Gyumri. The construction is being implemented in the territory of the Austrian children’s hospital of Gyumri with the funding of the World Bank.

Head of the Healthcare Department of Shirak governor office Samvel Ghazaryan told Armenpress that several stationary departments of 3 medical establishments will be placed in the new hospital. The hospital will have 200 beds.

Therapeutic and cardiologic departments of Samariter and province hospitals, as well as the surgical hospital will be placed in the new medical establishment. Samariter and surgical hospitals were constructed as administrative buildings and did not have corresponding hospital conditions, and the new hospital will be well-equipped,” S. Ghazaryan said.

The construction works of the hospital are intended to bring to an end in 2012.
