“Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund repairing Community Center and School of Artsni

YEREVAN, JUNE 3, ARMENPRESS: “Hayastan” all-Armenian fund is repairing the community center of Artsni. An official from the fund told Armenpress that the works kicked off in February are sponsored by the local body of Montreal. The second program implemented in the community by the fund is the repair of the school by the funding of the Indian government.

The two-storey community center is a construction of 40 years and needed repair. The community office placed there after the repair will serve to the community, and the hall of the celebrations and the medical point will also serve to the residents of neighboring Apaven village. The inner furnishing works are already being brought to an end.

“For the first time throughout the history of the village two buildings are being simultaneously repaired, and about a dozen of farmers have found a job. I hope that the farmers who have left their homes, will return,” head of the community Khenko Khachanesyan said.

The majority of the 350 residents of the villages are refugees from Getashen. Their main occupation is cattle breeding. From 1991the community has been renamed Artsni.

“There village faces many issues, but I hope it will start living with a new life as a result of our works, and the farmer will prefer to stay and work in the native village,” Executive Director of “Hayastan” all-Armenian fund Ara Vardanyan said.

The third program being implemented at the moment in the province of Lori is the construction of the gym hall of N 2 School of Spitak town, which will be ready in June, 2010.
