Delegation of RA Aragatsotn province visits Belarus

YEREVAN, MAY 27, ARMENPRESS: The delegation of RA Aragatsotn province visited May 24-26 the Republic of Belarus at the invitation of the executive body of the Belarusian Mogilyov province.

An official from the press and information department of RA Foreign Affairs Ministry told Armenpress that during the meeting of the heads of RA Aragatsotn and Belarusian Mogilyov provinces, Armen Khachatryan, RA ambassador to Belarus and permanent representative to CIS establishments, stressed the importance of extending and strengthening the Armenian- Belarusian inter-regional cooperation, which started with the cooperation of RA Syunik province and the Belarusian Minsk province. The towns of those two provinces- Kapan (Armenia) and Borisov (Belarus), Agarak and Soligorsk, Sisian and Slutsk, Meghri and Myadel, Goris and Nesvij- are currently cooperating with each other closely.

The Belarusian side presented the opportunities of economic and tourism development of Mogilyov province to the Armenian delegation. Visits were organized to Mogilyov, Shklov, Bobruysk and Buynichi towns, ‘Alexandriya’ beer factory, ‘Mogilyovliftmash’ elevator producing factory, travel centers, rest houses.

The delegation of Aragatsotn province, in turn, represented the opportunities of economic development of the province and spoke on the goods, which can be exported.

Within the framework of the visit protocols were signed between RA Aragatsotn province and the Belarusian Mogilyov province on the development of inter-regional cooperation. At the suggestion of the Belarusian side arrangements have been reached on signing an agreement for declaring Mogilyov (Belarus) and Talin (Armenia) as sister towns.
