GYUMRI, MAY 6, ARMENPRESS: International scientific conference entitled “Cultural Dialogue: the World Culture and Armenia” kicked off today in the small hall of Gyumri Academy of Fine Arts. The conference is conducted within the frameworks of “Renaissance” international contest-festival of musician-performers.

The conference organized by the Gyumri branch of Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory is conducted already for the third time. This year the considerable part of the works of the conference are dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Armenian outstanding composer Ghazaros Saryan. A concert program presenting the works of the composer will be held today in the evening.

Themes on Georgian, Lithuanian, Russian and Armenian cultures and cultural interactions of different people will be presented, and plenary sessions and discussions will be conducted within the frameworks of the scientific conference. Photos taken by Turkish photographer Erhan Arelk will be presented as well.

Candidate of Fine Arts Hasmik Harutyunyan told Armenpress that if in the previous years the scientific conferences were dedicated to the Armenian-Russian ties and many interesting results were registered, then this year both the framework of the themes and geography of the participants have expanded.

Hot discussions over the cultural dialogue, inter-cultural up-to-date issues and prospects are intended as well,” Hasmik Harutyunyan added.
