YEREVAN, APRIL 14, ARMENPRESS: The Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan received today Aaron Ciechanover, Israeli biologist and Nobel laureate in chemistry, who visited Armenia on the invitation of Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) after Mkhitar Heratsi to take part in the ceremonies on the 90th anniversary of YSMU. An official from the press and PR office of RA Government told Armenpress that the Prime Minister welcomed the guests and said he emphasizes the importance of such visits, which grant the opportunity to raise the level and quality of scientific collaboration.
The honored scientist expressed his gratitude for the reception and then represented his point of view about the current developments in science, spoke about his hands-on experience and mentioned that it can be useful and applicable in Armenia, too. The speakers emphasized the importance of universities, scientific innovations, establishing business links and making them more active, as well as the importance of students and scientists exchange programs.
