International conference in Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

ETCHMIADZIN, APRIL 12, ARMENPRESS: With the blessing of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, an international conference on “the lessons of communism to churches” will be held on April 16 in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The author of the initiative is the Catherine Institute of Helsinki University in collaboration with the Inter-Church Relations Department of the Mother See.

Press service of the Mother See told Armenpress that issues on the way communists fought against churches, on the way churches responded to that, on the result the churches reached through their confrontation, as well as on the experience to be used for confronting today’s challenges were discussed at the conference.

Outstanding scientists from Armenia, Finland, Germany, Latvia and Russia will participate in the scientific conference. They will meet with the Catholicos of All Armenians, as well as will visit different Armenian sanctuaries, cultural and scientific establishments and picturesque places.
