An official from the United Nations Armenia office told Armenpress that thanks to this initiative the population of Ararat province will be more informed on the merits of the United Nations and its work in Armenia.

“We welcome the opening of the UN corner in Artashat and we are sure that it will appear to be an additional impetus for enhancing the activeness among province young people. We highly assess this initiative and wait for the continuation of our cooperation with the UN Armenia office,” representative of Artashat Youth Center Anahit Tahmazyan said.

Representative of the UN Public Relations Department Maria Dotsenko noted that it is an important initiative for the UN, as the UN corner in the Youth Center will have a great contribution to the issue of spreading the UN merits and activity in Armenia. “We try to be closer to the province population,’ she said.

The opening of this UN corner is the result of the trilateral cooperation of Armenian Sport and Youth Affairs Ministry’s Center for Organizing Youth Events, UN Public Relations Department and UN “Armenian Association” NGO.
