In the sphere of tourism Gegharkunik collects revenue of 10 billion 880 million 880 thousand Drams

GAVAR, MARCH 26, ARMENPRESS: The 2009 tourism volumes of the province of Gegharkunik have been evaluated in the province agency of the Armenian National Statistical Service.

Head of the agency Hakob Badalyan told Armenpress that by approximate calculations in 2009 in the sphere of tourism of Gegharkunik province had revenue of 10 billion 880 million 880 thousand AMD.

The night fee of hotels, small houses and rural motels has made 7 billion 440 million AMD, the payments of food – 784 million AMD, the payment for services of transport and swimming means – 432 million AMD, and the payment for hiring pavilions and territories has amounted to 2 billion 232 million 800 thousand AMD.

A sharp increase of the number of resting people has been marked in the offshore communities of Sevan, where almost the 10 percent of house entrepreneurs has hosted at least one resting person. By approximate calculations, 12 thousand people have had a rest in those entrepreneurs spending 8 thousand AMD per day averagely. In the direction of rural tourism, revenue of 1 billion AMD has been registered in the province.
